AGM A9 has been in the news for a while and today the company unveiled the device in all its glory. The A9’s killer feature are the 4 speakers that are tuned by JBL and offer superior sound quality. Of course, it is a rugged smartphone as many previous models from the company that has a long tradition in such devices.
The phone sports both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certification and that means that not only is it both water and dust resistant, but it can also “bump-proof” in case you accidentally drop it. On the hardware side, the AGM A9 comes with a Snapdragon 450 SoC and that is a surprise as almost all smaller Chinese manufacturers use SoCs from Mediatek. To accompany the SoC, there are 3GB or 4GB of RAM that come with 32GB or 64GB of storage.
The display measures at 5.99″ and has a FHD+ resolution meaning that the company dropped the 16:9 aspect ratio. Oh, it has a Glove mode too for easy use when wearing gloves. The device is not bezeless though, as that could make it less durable to drops. The photo shooting is taken care of by the 12MP Sony rear camera and the 16MP front camera so no dual camera here. Interestingly enough, AGM equipped their new star with an FM Radio, something that is missing from the vast amount of devices out there nowadays. Lastly, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back and the battery of 5400mAh makes sure you won’t run out of juice through the day.
